The Best Fonts For You

Fonts are important when writing. Whether it comes to essays or presentations, you need to find the right fonts to best convey your message.

One of the first decisions to be made when selecting your font is serif or sans serif? This decision should be based on several key points regarding the project at hand. Once made, your search for the perfect font will be narrowed down considerably.

Serif

Serif fonts are typically used for printed writings. The finishing stroke to the letters make it easier for our brains to distinguish the letters when reading on printed work. Consider using a serif font when writing an essay, book, novel, or anything that you know is going to get printed. Some popular serif fonts are Times New Roman, Bodoni, Garamond, Rockwell, and Bembo.

Sans Seirf

Sans serif fonts are typically used for online work. Consider using sans serif fonts when writing online articles, blogs, posts, or anything that is going to be read by others through a device. Some popular sans serif fonts are Arial, Calibri, Helvetica, and Verdana.

Something else you should consider when choosing your font is what color you want. Different colors create different themes to the message that you are trying to convey. Click here to view our guide to which color you should use with your font.

Don't Make The Mistake Of Ordering The Wrong Size Folders

Folder Size does matter. When choosing a folder for your next event, meeting, conference or mailing make sure that you are choosing the correct size folder to best suit your specific needs.

Here is a list of the 7 most common folder sizes used in todays market

Tallest to Smallest

  1. 9x14.5 Presentation folder is best know as the "Legal Folder". You see this folder commonly used by Law Firms, Real Estate Companies and Finance Companies. Many of the documents used by these types of organizations are printed on larger sheets of paper such as a legal sheet which is 8.5" x 14" and would stick out of the top of a Standard 9"x12" Presentation Folder.
  2. 9x12 Presentation folder or as many call it "Pocket Folder" is truly the workhorse of all folders. The 9"x12" presentation folder is designed to be used with 8.5"x11" sheets of paper and along with its larger cousin the Legal Folder can hold up to 20 sheets of 20# bond paper in each pocket. I feel pretty confident that if you are reading this you most likely use 8.5"x11" sheets of paper as your primary sheet size.

You often see the 9"x12" Presentation folder used by schools, universities, accountants, HR departments, dental offices, doctors offices and  hospitals. You will also find them used for Trade Shows and in Business Presentations. The list of uses for this size folder go on and on.

  3. 6x9 We like to call this the "Church Folder" as it is quite often used by Churches as a Welcome folder stuffed full of information for their potentially new parishioners. The best thing about these 6x9 folders is that they are small, perfect for holding a 4.25x5.5" insert (half of a  8.5x11" sheet).
  4. 4x9 Commonly used to hold a standard trifold measuring 3.7x8.5" works much like the 6x9 folder, small and easily portable.

*Key Card/ Gift Card Holders:

When it comes to key card holders you really have to pay close attention to how much information you are putting onto the holder itself. Their is very limited space, so if you have a lot of information then you may want to choose the larger of the three sizes.

    5.  3.75x6.5
    6.  3.25x5.5
    7.  2.75x4.5

*All Folders and Key Card sizes are listed from the largest size folder to the smallest size folder.

Tired of Blending In? Time to Stand Out From the Rest!

Tired of Blending In? Time to Stand Out From the Rest!

Are you struggling to separate your business from the rest? A great way to stand out would be to design your own presentation folders! Presentation folders are a great way to show consumers that you are professional and that you put effort into your craft. Having said that, you cannot expect to impress people with just any ordinary presentation folder, you need to find the one just right for you. There are many different types of folders that carry many different types of themes. Here are some options that will help you decide how you want your folder to look.

Foil Stamped

Foil stamping is a great way to make your folder look professional. Foil stamping is the application of metallic foil onto a paper by implementing a heated die. Foil stamping creates a textured shiny finish to your folder. This finish is sure to capture anyone’s attention. Having a foil stamped finish will instantly improve the quality compared to one without a foil stamp. The two colors that work the best with foil stamping are gold and silver. Gold and silver are a great way to have a luxurious and professional theme.

UV Finish and Spot UV Finish

UV coating is more of a timeless finish. You can never go wrong with a UV finish. UV finishes are a great way to finish of a simplistic and clean look to your folder. UV finishes provide a shine all throughout the coating. Having said that, you can choose between a spot UV or a full UV coating. The difference between the two are that in a spot UV, the UV finish goes on a selected part of your choosing, while a full UV finish coats the whole folder to create a beautiful shine all throughout the folder. The benefit of having a full UV coating is that you get that stunning shine all around your folder. This creates more of a bold theme. The benefit to having a spot UV finish is that you develop a modern theme to your folder. The change between normal finish and UV finish adds more dynamic to your folder. However, you cannot go wrong with either one.

Embossed Finish

An embossed finish is a great way to create a simplistic and luxurious look to your folder. Embossing is the process in which the paper is either raised or dropped in order to create a new dimension. Embossing creates a textured paper that is sure to impress anyone. However, it does not take away from the design that you decide to create. Embossing has a unique way of catching someone’s attention while keeping the simplistic theme at the same time.

Matte Finish

Having a matte finish is the most versatile among all folder types. A matte finish is a finish that has very minimal to no shine or gloss on it. The reason why matte finishes are so versatile is because any design goes with a matte finish. A matte finish does not get in the way or compete with designs. It is able to be coherent with a design to showcase all the details. A matte finish creates a simplistic theme that will impress anyone.

How to Create the Perfect Logo

How to Create the Perfect Logo

Logos are the first thing people see when they discover your business. Logos are what initially determine whether or not someone wants to do business with you.  The world is saturated with thousands and thousands of logos. You need to make sure you create a unique and creative one that stands out. You should be able to answer the question, “Out of all the logos in the world, why should consumers remember yours?” Since logos are consumers’ first impression of your brand, it should be a positive one.

Before you create your logo, you need to know what your brand is going to be. Based off what your brand is, you can develop a theme to your logo. You need to determine the name of your business so you can work off that to create the perfect logo that fits that brand.

Once you have an idea of what your brand is going to be, you should determine whether or not you want the name of your business to be in your logo. Neither option is wrong. There are many successful logos that have their name in logos and there are many that do not. Some successful companies that do not have their names in their logos are: Mercedes-Benz, Nike, and Audi. Some successful companies that have their names in their logs are: Coca-Cola, Adidas, and FedEx.

If you decide you do not want words on your logo, you need to figure what image you want your logo to be. You should find something that will help consumers think of your brand when they see that image. For example, whenever anyone sees that image of an apple with a bite taken out of it, they think of Apple Inc. Try to find something that is relevant to your business.

Once you figured out whether or not you want words in your logo, you need to find out which colors you want in your logo. Colors are very important in a logo. Each color portrays something different. Top 5 Tips to Capture People’s Attention to Your Presentation

Nowadays, it is hard to get someone’s attention. People’s attention spans are getting shorter and shorter by the day. It can be nearly impossible to successfully deliver information to someone who is not drawn into what you are presenting to them. Here are a few tips to help ensure to draw people in and keep them interested.

Tip 1: Introduce an interesting statistic

Statistics can help draw people into your presentation. A good statistic can put your reader in awe, which will then lead them to want to find out more.

For example, if you are advertising a new healthy restaurant that you are opening, you might want to state the fact that 74% of men in the United States are overweight or obese. Reading this can interest a reader, which will lead to them wanting to learn more about the statistic. The reason why statistics draw people in is because it puts things into perspective. Everyone knows that America isn’t the healthiest country, but no one really thinks about it in detail. When you present this information to them, it will compel them to take action.

Tip 2: Use a Quote

Quotes are a good way to get the brain flowing. Quotes can help draw someone in because they are thought provoking. The quote should not be by any random person. It needs to be someone who most people recognize.  Having said that, you need to make sure your quote is coming from a credible person. You want to find a quote from someone who is appropriate for what you are talking about.

For example, if you want to attract someone into your presentation about the Black Lives Matter movement, you wouldn’t want to use a quote from a random celebrity like Miley Cyrus. You should use a quote from a historical influential figure. Someone like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. or Malcom X would be more credible.

Tip 3: Ask a Question

A question can help draw someone into your presentation because it makes them think about your topic. After they think about your topic, they will feel the need to learn more. Questions can cause curiosity. By having your reader curious about your topic, they will feel more compelled to learn more about your topic. People will read more of your presentation so they can find out the answer.
For example, if you are advertising beds, you might want to ask the question, “why does your back hurt so much?” This will attract readers because it appeals to many people. Many people have back pain and they are all on the constant search to find a solution. Seeing a question like this will motivate them to read more about your comfy beds that can end their back pain.

Tip 4: Include an eye-catching image

Pictures can help draw people into your presentation for a couple of reasons. It takes less effort to look at a picture rather than reading something. Having an eye-catching image can be the difference between having some stop to read more about your presentation and them just ignoring it. Pictures are able to express more than words. Pictures tend to be more effective in drawing people in.

For example, say you are advertising trips to Hawaii. You don’t want to tell them about how beautiful it looks; you want to show them in an instant. People would much rather see the beautiful views the trip has to offer, not read about them.

Tip 5: Use the right colors

Colors are a big part in capturing people’s attention. People react to different colors in certain ways. You do not want your presentation to be something boring that does not stand out. You want to use colors that are bold and stand out. If you would like to learn more about which colors you should use in your presentation click here to view our guide on Top 5 Colors to Increase Sales.
